C is For Cookie

Today we explored more about the letter C with Cookie Activities.
Daily Questions: Do you like cookies? Oatmeal or Chocolate Chip?

Toys: Melissa and Doug Wooden "Bake and Serve" Pattern Cookies and also Fisher Price and Imaginex Castles. On our first day of play, the cookies were a lot of fun for the children. On our second day of play, it was all about castles. We had three castles in processes of being built-destroyed-or being turned into a girl/animal/Fisher Price chunky people friendly place were the animals patrol the walls and are nice to each other.

Snack time was apple slices, milk, and cookies. Susie bit hers into a letter "C."

We had some fun Math experiences with The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins and One for Me, One for You by C.C. Cameron. We used a box of Cookie Crisp Cereal as manipulatives as we did simple Math (counting, dividing, subtraction and addition).

We also talked about how C is a "copycat" sound. It sounds like "k as in kite" or "s as in snake." Think of c words: celery (s), cake(k), cookie (k), caterpillar (k), circus (s), etc.

Outdoor Fun: Today included chalk, slides, and flying to Colorado while looking for C things.
